New rapeseed hybrids show record-breaking seed yield and oil content!
The study looked at different rapeseed plants to see which combinations produced the best seeds and oil. They crossed nine inbred lines with five genetic male sterile lines to make 45 new crosses. They found that some crosses had higher seed yield and oil content than others, with one cross, QH303-4A×1190, showing the best results. Some parent plants, like Ⅲ188 and Q034, were better for seed yield, while others, like 2365 and QH303-4AB, were good for high oil content. Overall, 11 hybrids produced more than 2,500 kg per hectare and had positive results for seed yield and oil content. Two specific crosses, Qianyou3A ×Ⅲ 224 and Qianyou3A×2313, were recommended for early breeding programs.
