The focus of the study is on reforming the RMB exchange rate regime for greater flexibility. Scholars and the IMF suggest that China should take advantage of its economic policies and WTO accession to make these reforms. However, there is still a lot of work to be done before a consensus can be reached on the strategy and steps for carrying out the reform.
