Intercropping legumes boosts sorghum productivity and soil fertility levels.
Sorghum productivity was studied with different fertilizers and legume intercropping. Using 100% inorganic fertilizer led to the highest grain and stover yields. Sorghum + cowpea intercropping with 50% inorganic fertilizers gave the highest green-fodder yield. Soil nutrients were restored more with farmyard manure and white popinac leaves compared to inorganic fertilizer.
