Optimal Sowing Dates Boost Winter Rapeseed Yields, Secure Food Supply
The study looked at planting winter rapeseed at different times in a dry and cold region to improve its growth and yield. They tested various planting dates and found that planting later led to lower survival rates, less plant growth, and fewer yield-contributing factors. Early planting produced more pods and seeds per plant. Plant height and stem thickness decreased when planting was delayed, but the number of branches and pod size increased. The best time to plant winter rapeseed in the area studied was found to be between September 5th and 15th. So, planting at the right time can positively influence the growth and yield of winter rapeseed in such regions.
