No-till farming boosts crop yield and cattle weight gain significantly.
Crop and livestock integration can benefit both systems and the environment. A study looked at how different tillage methods and grazing timing affect crop and animal production. Results showed that no tillage preserved soil organic matter from previous pasture, leading to higher cattle weight gains. Grain yields were not significantly affected by tillage or grazing. This suggests that no tillage is beneficial for maintaining soil quality and that grazing cover crops does not harm subsequent crops.
