A trial was conducted in Nanning City, China in 2009 to test new rice varieties. Out of 14 varieties tested, five showed higher productivity compared to the control variety. These varieties are Tianyou 3301, Zyou 272, Luyou 5648, Teyou 923, and Liangyou 036. Another three varieties, Xinxiang 527, Dexiang 4103, and Q you 2, had better quality than the control. Overall, eight varieties were deemed suitable for planting in Nanning, while further investigation is needed for the rest.
