Revolutionary Composting Method Boosts Crop Growth and Soil Health
Chicken manure and chaff were mixed and composted at high temperatures to see how the nutrition elements changed. The pH first went down, then up, then down again. Total N and K levels changed in a staggered way, while NH+4-N decreased. Available P increased first, then decreased. Seed germination improved. The EC value first went up, then down. Adding chaff to the mix raised the temperature and helped water evaporate faster. The best composting result was with a 2 to 1 ratio of chicken manure to chaff, taking about 30 days.
