Intercropping soybean and pigeonpea boosts crop yield and economic benefits.
A study was done to see if growing different types of soybeans and pigeon peas together could be beneficial. They found that some pigeon pea varieties worked well with certain soybean varieties in intercropping. The combination of these plants gave a good land-equivalent ratio. However, not all combinations were economically advantageous. Just because a mix of plants is good for the land doesn't mean it's the best choice financially.
