Kuwait's Oil Industry Bounces Back Stronger After Iraqi Occupation
Kuwait's oil and gas industry is recovering well after the Iraqi occupation in the 1990s. Two out of three refineries are back in operation, with the third expected to restart by September. The refineries are not yet running at full capacity, but major reconstruction is set to be completed by the end of the year. The crude oil distillation capacity will reach 650,000 barrels per day, slightly lower than pre-invasion levels. Plans for modernization and petrochemicals are also in the works.
