Revolutionizing potato farming: maximizing yield with integrated nutrient management.
The study looked at how to best fertilize potato crops in Uttarakhand. Different levels of nutrients and manure were tested to see how they affected potato yield. The researchers found that for every 100 kg of potatoes, you need 0.33 kg of nitrogen, 0.05 kg of phosphorus, and 0.40 kg of potassium. Soil, manure, and fertilizer all played a role in the crop's growth. Using 10 tonnes of manure per hectare along with a target yield of 2000 kg per hectare gave the best results in terms of cost and yield. The study showed that farmers can improve their potato yields by adjusting their fertilizer use based on soil tests and targeted yield goals.
