New Model Predicts Sediment Yield in Iran Watershed with High Accuracy
The MPSIAC model was tested in Iran to predict sediment yield in the Zargeh watershed. The model uses nine factors like climate and land use to estimate sediment levels. Data from 20 years was used to validate the model, showing a significant correlation with actual records. The most important factors for predicting sediment yield were found to be climate, channel erosion, and runoff. The model can be useful for long-term watershed management plans and assessing soil erosion potential over time.
