China's Income Inequality Soars: Implications for Regional Disparities.
The study looked at income inequality in different regions of China from 1952 to 1995. They used various measures to analyze the differences in income levels, finding that from 1952 to 1978, the gaps increased, then decreased until the early 1990s, and slightly increased again until 1995. However, overall, the income differences kept growing each year. The researchers also started to explore the reasons behind these regional income disparities.
