Sulphur from Pyrite and Gypsum Boosts Indian Mustard and Rice Yields
The researchers studied how pyrite and gypsum can provide sulfur for Indian mustard and rice crops. They found that applying 40 kg/ha of sulfur increased Indian mustard seed and oil yields. Using 80 kg/ha of sulfur on Indian mustard led to higher rice grain yield. Both pyrite and gypsum were equally effective in improving crop yields and nutrient uptake. Additionally, using pyrite before Indian mustard increased the iron uptake by the following rice crop compared to using gypsum.
