Kenaf bast fiber was treated with different levels of alkaline solution to make biocomposites. Composites made from treated fibers had better tensile strength than untreated ones. The scanning electron microscope showed improved compatibility between the fiber and the matrix. The amount of fiber used in the composites also affected their properties.
