Spicy Pepper Extracts Show Promising Anti-Inflammatory Effects, Potential for Therapy
The researchers studied how to extract capsaicin from different types of Capsicum annuum peppers using ethyl alcohol. They also looked at the anti-inflammatory effects of the alcohol extract on induced inflammation, finding that it had a strong therapeutic effect. In addition to local changes at the site of inflammation, they observed systemic changes, including a decrease in the total number of white blood cells and normalization of the white blood cell count.
