Revolutionizing Cotton Growth: Floating Methods Boost Seedling Quality and Rate
The way cotton seedlings are grown affects their quality and survival rate. In a study comparing different methods, it was found that floating nursing seedling intermittently in a water-bed (FNSIW) resulted in the highest standing seedling rate. Although this method was more complex, the cotton seedlings were sturdier and had higher root and stem width compared to other methods. On the other hand, floating nursing seedling always in a water-bed (FNSAW) had simple operation and neat seedling emergence, but the cotton shoot grew more rapidly in seedling nursing on moist trays (SNMT).
