Rice varieties with erect panicles yield significantly higher grain production.
The study looked at different types of rice plants and how they affect yield. They found that rice plants with upright or slightly upright panicles produced more grain than those with curved panicles. To increase yield, they suggested improving the ripened grain percentage, spikelets per panicle, and grain weight. They also found that the amount of dry matter, chlorophyll content, and leaf area index were important factors for high yield in different types of rice plants at different growth stages.
