Rural drinking water in Zhaoping county faces serious microbial pollution
The study analyzed rural drinking water quality in Zhaoping from 2009 to 2011. Water samples were tested using standard methods, with an overall pass rate of 36.33%. The pass rate increased annually, but microorganism pollution was a serious issue. Centralized water supply had a higher pass rate than decentralized supply. It is recommended to expand centralized water supply, improve water purification and disinfection to ensure safe drinking water in rural areas.
