Desert vegetation restoration on the rise, boosting ecological benefits!
The study looked at how vegetation in a dry desert area changed over time. By analyzing satellite images, researchers found that from 1987 to 2008, areas with lots of plants increased while areas with few plants decreased. This means that efforts to restore vegetation in the desert were successful. The amount of restored vegetation compared to the total area also went up by almost 19% from 2003 to 2008. This shows that the benefits of restoring vegetation in the desert are growing over time.
