Salt stress reduces cucumber seedling growth, impacting food security worldwide.
The study looked at how different types of cucumber plants handle salt stress. They tested 10 varieties and found that the amount of salt affected seed germination. Low salt levels didn't impact germination, but higher levels did. Salt stress also made the leaves and roots lose water and become more conductive. After salt stress, the conductivity of cucumber seedlings increased by 50% to 100%.
