Overgrazing and Wildlife Threaten Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Grasslands, Urgent Action Needed
Grassland degradation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is caused by climate, wildlife, and human activities. Changes in temperature and precipitation play a big role, along with small mammals and large herbivores damaging the grassland. Livestock overgrazing also contributes to the problem. The main causes of degradation are overgrazing and population increases of small mammals. To help restore the grassland, we need to focus on managing grazing intensity and controlling small mammal populations.
