Human activities driving 83.2% decrease in runoff in Yang River Basin.
The study analyzed long-term data to understand changes in runoff in the Yang River Basin. They found that runoff has decreased significantly since the 1980s, mainly due to human activities like water use for industry, agriculture, and population growth. Climate change also played a role, but human actions had a bigger impact. In fact, 83.2% of the runoff decrease was caused by human activities.
