In the late Ming Dynasty, some Ming generals tried to team up with Korea against the Qing Dynasty. Wang Wuwei, an assistant commander, led fleets to Korea three times to make this happen. But the Ming Dynasty was too weak to support Korea openly, so the alliance plan failed. Korea stayed under Qing rule.
