The researchers developed a cost-effective microbial agent to help with pig manure composting in Jiaxing City. They compared this new agent with a commercial one by composting pig manure for 38 days. The pig manure treated with the new agent had lower water content and reached maturity standards faster than the control group. The compost produced with the new agent had a suitable carbon nitrogen ratio and organic matter content for organic fertilizer. Overall, the new microbial agent reduced composting time and produced a high-quality fertilizer product.
