Tea soil bacteria boost plant growth with phosphate solubilizing abilities!
Phosphate solubilizing bacteria from tea soil in India were studied to see how they can help plants grow better. 11 strains of these bacteria were found, with most belonging to the Burkholderia genus. These bacteria release acids that make phosphorus easier for plants to use, by lowering the pH of the soil. When combined with rock phosphate, these bacteria can help tea plants grow better. This research shows that these bacteria can be helpful for tea crops by making phosphorus more available for the plants.
