The article explores how different organizational practices can affect a company's productivity. Previous studies have focused on how pairs of practices work together, but this may not give accurate results when more than two practices are involved. The researchers developed a new method to test how multiple practices interact, using examples of three or four innovation practices. This method can also be used to test for supermodularity.
