Local communities losing control of streets as local governments take over.
The study looked at how community streets are managed and used by residents. They found that local communities have shifted away from managing streets, with the government taking over public services. Community streets are now mainly used for park activities. The functions of community streets have become simpler due to changes in the community. There is now a separation between how streets are used and managed. Despite efforts by the government to improve street functions through design changes, community involvement has been lacking.
