High Salt Levels Threaten Citrus Seedlings, Impacting Growth and Vitality
The researchers studied how different amounts of salt affected the health of Citrus grandis ‘Pingshanyou’ seedlings grown in water. They found that high salt levels caused more damage to the leaves and roots, making them less healthy. The seedlings were especially sensitive to salt stress in their roots. The levels of important pigments for photosynthesis decreased when the seedlings were exposed to salt for a long time.
